Have you made ever a New Year’s Resolution to lose weight? How about to eat healthier? Exercise more?
How’d it work out for you?
More than likely you started gung ho with a gym membership (or actually bought a piece of exercise equipment). Furthermore, you got the latest diet book and did pretty well for the first week. However, by the second week, you’re eyeing the donuts in the breakroom like they were the last food on earth.
Or maybe it’s 5 p.m. and you’re too tired to go workout. Moreover, you’re starving and stop by your favorite fast food (junk food) place on the way home. (For a while, I was in a stressful job and my favorite fast food place was Little Caesar’s to grab a “Hot and Ready” pepperoni pizza. Then I discovered that cheese and wheat were causing inflammation and making my osteoarthritis pain worse.) And of course, you have to start eating it in the car. Admit it, you’ve done it.
Or maybe you do manage to stick to the diet and exercise program for a month or more, lose weight, but then when you go back to your old lifestyle, you gain it all back.
Gee, all that hard work for nothing!
