Deciding to dive in wholeheartedly into a medically-guided weight loss program was an easy decision. As I told you in my story, I’ve been struggling with weight all my life. And I’ve read and tried just about every fad diet book published.
I really didn’t have anything to lose, but weight!
In this video, I talk with Nutritionist Judy Nicassio, about why having a customized wight-loss program works when trying to do it by yourself doesn’t.
Each person and body is different. There is no one-size-fits-all diet plan!
Since this video, I’ve lost 30 lbs. altogether! At my heaviest, I was 183 and when this picture was taken, I hit 153. Between Judy, Dr. Matt and Dr. J. we’ve decided that 140 should be my final goal weight.
I couldn’t have done it without their help. Trying to do it on your own is futile. They keep me accountable and they’re there to answer my questions.
I just turned 62 and I feel great!
Having lost weight means there’s less weight on my knees and ankles which were a constant source of pain.
The challenge now with the Phoenix summer heat is my favorite exercise, hiking, is not an option. I’d have to get up before dawn and that just ain’t happening. I’ve been walking the mall and what’s cool (literally) is that I can go faster on a smooth surface in the air conditioning. I can do 2 miles in less than 30 minutes. I admit, getting motivated to just drive to the mall in this heat is a challenge.
I also found some great senior, chair yoga videos. However, you don’t burn as much calories doing yoga as you do power walking the mall. If you prefer to have a live yoga instructor, check out Holistic Health Solutions yoga classes with Teri.
